How to get hospitalized for depression?

You wouldn't be going to the hospital by yourself if you really want to go. If you're really feeling suicidal, someone will come to your home and take you to the hospital via ambulance. All you have to do is call your local hospital or 911. There is no shame in doing that. I've done it - was carried by the medics to the psych ward. It is nothing to be ashamed of. People are trained (even police officers) for that sort of thing, and they won't treat you like an animal. Just call your local hospital emergency room and tell them you need help right away. People will come over and take care of you from there, you don't have to do anything but rest.
