Does anyone have an iguana just runnin around the house?

I had an iguana a couple years ago and i really want another one but now i have kids and i don't have a room for just him so i don't know if he would be ok just being able to go any ware in the house? i would have a heat lamp set up if he gets cold. And do they get along with small dogs? So my question is if they would be ok if i don't have a pen set up and he can go any ware. if i do get one he would be a good size like around 2-4 feet so it wouldn't be a baby running around. thank you!
