Is it possible to be both a Navy and a Marine?

If you went into the Navy and trained as a corpsman, the chances are good that you could end up serving in a Marine outfit as its medic. The Marines are, administratively, a branch of the Navy. The Marines do not have their own medical personnel, so the Navy supplies their medics.
