Why don't women insist that the toilet seat always be left UP?

I totally agree with breakfastisy above me. It's just gross to see the seat up. I prefer both the seat and the lid down because it looks much nicer. Thank goodness my husband doesn't care that he needs to lift a seat to pee. Plus, we have two cats so this prevents them from drinking from the toilet bowl.
